WEC 37 Torres vs Tapia

Venue: Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas
Broadcast on live on Versus Dec 3, 2008

This will be the WEC's first fight card since they disbanded their heavier weight classes. It should make for an action packed event, since the smaller guys always have the best motors. It will be interesting if the fans will tune in to a MMA fight card that does not include any of the heavier weight classes.

WEC Bantamweight Championship bout:

Flag of the United States Miguel Torres vs. Flag of the United States Manny Tapia

Miguel Torres has not tasted defeat in a MMA match since 2003. Don't look for that to change at WEC 37. There is nothing wrong about the undefeated Manny Tapia, but Miguel is on a different level the most other bantamweight MMA fighters. Miguel will use his height and reach advantages to submit Manny no later than the second round.

WEC Featherweight bout:

Flag of Brazil Wagnney Fabiano vs. Flag of Japan Akitoshi Tamura

Many people are expecting great things out of Wagnney Fabiano. Since he suffered a controversial split decision loss to Jeff Curran, he has been on a tear. Of Wagnney's last 6 MMA fights, only one made it out of the first round, and that one ended in the second. Akitoshi Tamura will be a good test to see if Wagnney is worthy of all the great things being said about him. I am picking Wagnney by submission in round three.

WEC Featherweight bout:

Flag of the United States Cub Swanson vs. Flag of Japan Hiroyuki Takaya

Cub Swanson will always be remembered for all the trash he talked about Jens Pulver before their fight, which he lost in 36 seconds(ooops!). Until that lose he was riding an 11 fight win streak. Cub is looking to make Hiroyuki the second victim of a new win streak, but he will have a hard time doing it. I am going to pick Hiroyuki to win by TKO in round two.

WEC Bantamweight bout:

Flag of the United States Brian Bowles vs. Flag of Brazil Will Ribeiro

Brian Bowles is an undefeated and up and coming MMA fighter. Will Riberio only has one loss. Riberio likes the stand up game and Brian likes to work submissions. Look for Brian to continue his undefeated streak, but Riberio has the power to end the fight if he lands the right punch.

WEC Lightweight bout:

Flag of Poland Bart Palaszewski vs. Flag of the United States Alex Karalexis

Bart Palasewski has fought 38 MMA fights, that is a lot of fights since he only started his MMA carerr in  2002. Alex Karalexis has not fought in close to a year. Alex always fights with a lot of heart and should be a good challenge for Bart. Alex and Bart should fight each other to a close decision victory for Bart.

WEC Welterweight bout:

Flag of the United States Johny Hendricks vs. Flag of Russia Alex Serdyukov

Johny Hendricks was a very successful collegiate wrestler. That will be the difference in this fight. Johny will run his record to a perfect 4-0 with a TKO victory in round one.

WEC Lightweight bout:

Flag of the United States Shane Roller vs. Flag of the United States Mike Budnik

WEC Bantamweight bout:

Flag of the United States Joseph Benavidez vs. Flag of the United States Danny Martinez

WEC Featherweight bout:

Flag of the United States Josh Grispi vs. Flag of Brazil Diego Nunes
