The Rashad Evans Nipple Twisting Explained
Like just about everyone that watched UFC 88, I was completely creeped out by Rashad's nipple twisting before his bout with Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell. It turns out he was making fun out of the Canadian Georges St. Pierre. GSP has done it before a few of his fights, apparently it is a good luck gesture in Canada.
I am all for making fun of Canadians, but I also believe you shouldn't make fun out of people that could make you scream like a little girl if they take it the wrong way. That means I can't make fun out of GSP, Patrick Cote, or any other Canadian MMA fighter for that matter. So I am glad that Rashad stepped up the the plate for me and did.
I feel bad for Rashad, because a lot of people don't like him for some of the showboating he does in the ring. The nipple thing just reinforced that for a lot of his critics. In interviews outside of the ring, Rashad seems to be a fairly humble and appreciative guy. One thing I do know, like him or hate him, he has a really good shot at being our next UFC Light Heavyweight Champion.
