Chuck Liddell vs Rashad Evans
All I can say is wow. Like just about everyone else, I picked Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell to win this fight and was completely creeped out by Rashad's nipple twisting before the fight. We all thought that the only way "Sugar" Rashad Evans would have a chance would be to take the fight to the ground. We could not have been more wrong.
Unlike most fighters who only choose to stand up with Chuck after many failed take down attempts, Rashad chose to do just that. All through the first round, we all were waiting for Rashad to shoot for a take down, or for Chuck to KO Rashad, neither of which happened. Chuck did land a few decent shots, and Rashad did manage to cut "The Iceman" under his right eye. It was an okay round for both fighters, with Chuck winning the round on the judges' score cards.
The second round started much like the first. Chuck was stalking Rashad and backed him up to the fence. We all knew the end was near and we were right. Chuck unleashed a massive uppercut that would end Rashad's showboating at the same time that Rashad threw an overhand right. Unfortunately for Chuck fan's, Rashad landed first and instantly put "The Iceman" on ice with an amazing KO that will make all of the highlight reels for years to come. Chuck was down for several minutes before the doctors got him up and his corner helped him back to his dressing room.
