UFC Silva vs Irvin
July 19, 2008
Venue:
Broadcast Live and Free on SPIKE
Light Heavyweight bout:
Anderson Silva vs
James Irvin
The current UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson "The Spider" Silva moves up to Light Heavyweight to take on James "The Sandman" Irvin. I am on of the few people that think this will be a tough fight for Anderson, and he might even lose. I am going out on a limb and
saying that James "The Sandman" Irvin will KO Anderson "The Spider" Silva in round 1, if it goes past round 1, then "The Spider" will submit the "The Sandman".
Lightweight bout:
Hermes Franca vs
Frank Edgar
This will be Hermes Franca's first fight back after being suspended after his lose to Sean Sherk. Frank Edgar is coming off of his first loss in the UFC. This will be an entertaining fight, with Hermes Franca coming out with a victory by submission.
Light Heavyweight bout:
Brandon Vera vs
Reese Andy
This will be the first fight at Light Heavyweight for Brandon "The Truth" Vera. He is moving down from Heavyweight after being out-sized by his last two opponents. He should be a monster at 205 pounds. Reese Andy drew tough fight for his first fight in the UFC. Brandon Vera will make short work of Reese Andy and KO him in round 1.
Heavyweight bout:
Jake O'Brien vs
Cain Velasquez
This should be a very exciting heavyweight fight with lots of fireworks. Between Jake O'Brien and Cain Velasquez
you have a total of 13 professional fights, and 10 of those have ended with a TKO/KO in the first round. Both of these fighters are part of the future of the Heavyweight division, but right now I am going with Cain Velasquez with a TKO in round 1.

C.B. Dollaway vs
Jesse Taylor
This was the fight that everyone thought would be the finale for this seasons TUF, until Amir arm barred C.B.Dollaway and Jesse Taylor dipped a little to much into the crazy water. C.B. and Jesse have similar styles, they like to take their opponent down and work the ground and pound game. I say he who has the first take down will win.
Welterweight bout:
Anthony Johnson vs
Kevin Burns
In most of his fights Anthony Johnson enjoys a huge advantage in size and reach, not this time. Kevin Burns is only 2 inches shorter than Anthony Johnson. With out his overwhelming size advantage, Anthony Johnson will find him self being submitted by Kevin Burns in round 2.
Welterweight bout:
Rory Markham vs
Brodie Farber
Brodie Faber's last three fights have lasted a total of 3 minutes 22 seconds. I think he will overwhelm Rory "The Ror" Markham in round 1.
Welterweight bout:
Brad Blackburn vs
James Giboo
For Brad Blackburn's last five fights, he has been alternating between wins and losses, he is due for a loss. James Gibbo wins in round 2 by TKO.
Middleweight bout:
Johnny Rees vs
Nate Loughran
This one could end up being a jiu-jitsu match. Johnny Rees has a 10-0 record with 8 wins by submission, and Nate Loughran has an 8-0 record with 7 submissions. Hopefully they will cancel each other out on the ground and we will see a non-technical slugfest.
Lightweight bout:
Shannon Gugherty vs
Dale Hartt
Shannon Gugherty has a win over Cub Swanson, but I don't think he will end up with a win over Dale Hartt. Dale Hartt will win by TKO in round 3.
